Hearth

Build your family's AI assistant.

Share notes. Generate custom apps. Managed by AI that follows your rules.

A shared brain for your home

TODO lists, trip plans, and recipes live in one shared workspace that syncs live across your family and AI agents. It’s your digital fridge door.

Agents build your apps

Need a budget tracker, flight monitor, or meal planner? Just ask. AI agents can write and run custom, interactive mini-apps directly inside your workspace.

Agents follow your rules

Agents run in a sandboxed virtual workspace, contained by default. Network access, logins, and automated actions require explicit family approval.

Features

Where your family and AI both live.

Hearth is one shared place for what your household knows, how it runs, and the small tools it needs. You can edit any of it, and so can an agent working on your behalf.

Notes
The school calendar, the contractor's number, the thing you keep meaning to fix. Everyone edits the same note, so there's one current version of it instead of a screenshot in a group chat.
Skills
Teach your assistant how your household actually runs: how you plan a week of dinners, what goes in the summer packing list, who to remind about what. Skills are plain-language instructions, written once and followed every time.
Apps
Ask for a chore chart, a grocery tracker, or a flight watcher, and your assistant writes one. Apps are real programs that run in your workspace with nothing to install. Every one your assistant builds can become a tool it uses later.

How it works

Give an agent real reach without handing over the house.

An assistant is only useful if it can actually do things, and only safe if what it can do is bounded. Here's how Hearth draws that line.

  1. Apps run in a sealed box

Every app an agent writes runs inside its own locked-down frame in your browser. It can't read your other apps, your notes, or anything on your computer, and it can only reach the specific services it declared up front.

  2. Every request checks in with your rules

Before an agent or an app reaches out to the internet, the request passes through a policy engine that answers to your rules: what you've allowed, what you've blocked, and what needs an approval first. Anything you haven't decided on is checked against a live database of known-malicious sites.

  3. Agents never see your passwords

Logins and API keys go into a separate vault with no way to read them back out. When an agent calls a connected service, it hands over the request and the vault attaches the credential, so the agent gets the answer and never the secret.

  4. Everything syncs

Each device keeps its own full copy of the workspace, so it works offline and feels instant. When two people (or a person and an agent) edit at the same time, the edits merge.

  5. Every change is reversible

Your workspace tracks every change. Every edit to a note, a skill, or an app is a step you can look at and undo, so letting an agent try something is a decision you can take back.

Your family holds the keys.

Every one of those boundaries is yours to set, inspect, and take back, in plain language, from your workspace, without asking us.
